Earth Day 2024: Thirdera has planted 2,463 trees in India

Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive!

Earth Day, annually celebrated around the world on April 22, serves as a poignant reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and preserve our planet. It is a day to reflect on the impact our individual actions have on the environment and commit ourselves to taking the actions necessary to build a more sustainable future. 

Thirdera, a Cognizant company, has been actively involved in driving a positive change, through our participation in various initiatives that promote environmental conscience and look to make a dent in pollution problems through reforestation efforts and ocean clean-ups. 

This year we have partnered with OneTreePlanted again to plant 2,463 trees - one for each member of our global ServiceNow Business Group. The trees were planted in the district of Chikmagalur in India, contributing to biodiversity, disaster relief, and the region's sustainability.  

Reforestation projects in India are aimed at planting trees in rural states, where food scarcity and the impact of droughts on the land are significant concerns. Species like moringa and mangrove are planted to enhance climate resilience, while fruit trees like papaya, banana, lemon, and guava, among others, will help support the local economy and sustainable livelihoods for small farmers in the region in the long term. 

We are proud to join in such initiatives and do our part to promote reforestation efforts in the critical areas on our planet!
