September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. About 10,470 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2022. As new pediatric cancer cases continue to rise year-to-year, more families are confronted with an overwhelming hardship that seems incontrollable.
Thirdera is proud to partner with Prevailing Crowns, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing happiness to children recently diagnosed with cancer. By providing Crown Kits (hats ready for hair attachment), Prevailing Crowns offers hope and a much-needed sense of normalcy to children and their families as they strive to prevail over cancer.
A few weeks ago, we took a moment to pull ourselves from the daily grind and collectively support Prevailing Crowns by hosting a fundraiser at our official headquarters launch party in Broomfield, Colorado. We offered co-branded Prevailing Crowns + Thirdera hats (see image below) to anyone who made a donation at our party. The subsequent support we received from Eranauts and our partners was tremendous.
With over $17,000 raised, Prevailing Crowns can now produce as many as 868 of their hat kits – a one-of-a-kind accessory worn by children once they lose their hair from chemo. Plus, they will be expanding the hat kit by incorporating a stuffed doll in future kits - something they had in mind for a long time but did not have the funds to bring the idea to life.
'"It has always been our desire to add to the kit a lovely of some sort (stuffed doll) and now we will be able to work on incorporating it into future kits thanks to YOU! We will also be able to support Embrace - our upcoming bereaved Mom's retreat - with more opulence. Thank you for providing us with the means to be able to inspire hope for so many families!" said Erika La Loggia, the founder of Prevailing Crowns.
We thank all the donors for their generosity in supporting this cause and investing in something that matters. You helped bring happiness to the pediatric cancer community - one hat kit at a time.
